After many years of persuasion, grade 1 piper Andy Gibbs has finally recorded the tunes he regularly plays for highland dancing competitions, producing the collection “Unreel: Piping for Highland Dancing” in Highland and National dance formats.
Known for his timing, stamina and quality of sound, Andy has been playing for dancers for over 20 years and ironically will never let a recording take over his duties, even on the longest days of playing.
The albums include the unique advantage of LIVE recordings, which are ideal to simulate dancing competitions when practicing either at home or lessons. As well as variations of the tempo and length of the traditional dances, there are also many of the lesser-known dances which is hoped will aid with their revival.
